Chavez Update

i finally GRADUATED! and it was emotional for me, especially to have my mom there to celebrate with me, she never earned her high school diploma, so i am proud to share my accomplishment with her. she made me who i am today, and she taught me to never give up, for that i am grateful to her. the kids and i are wrapping up are last few days of school for the christmas break, we will go back in january, isn't this job the best, no school and no work it will be great. tom had his annual christmas party this week and i was so proud of him, he was awarded MANAGER OF THE YEAR and TOP SALES FOR THE YEAR! applause, applause, applause!!! it was a great weekend for us, it was a time for us to truly be thankful for all that we have accomplished this year, me with school and tom with work. the kids are doing great and are ready for the break, we will be spending christmas in austin with our family. i am also bracing myself for school to start at TAMUCC, i am secretly excited to began this journey, to becoming a teacher. i hope everyone has a happy christmas and joyful new year.

DIZZY!

THE LAST FEW WEEKS HAVE BEEN CRAZY. SERENA'S SOFTBALL TEAM WENT "PRO" OR IN LITTLE LEAGUE TERMS "SELECT" AND SO WE HAVE BEEN PLAYING IN TOURNAMENTS ON THE WEEKENDS. NOAH'S TEAM THE "REDWINGS" ARE IN THE LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYOFFS, DURING THE WEEK. AND I COULDN'T FIND A JOB TO SAVE MY LIFE AND IN ONE DAY I WAS CALLED FOR TWO, AND IF I COULD HAVE TAKEN BOTH I WOULD HAVE. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WENT FOR THE ONE WITH CCISD AND NOW AM A "MOODY TROJAN"!!!! THIS WAS MY FIRST WEEK AND IT IS GOING GREAT. ALSO I AM GETTING READY FOR FINALS AND GRADUATION!!!! AND THE HOLIDAYS ARE OFFICIALLY HERE. I AM DRAINED PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY. I HAVE A WEEK OFF FOR THANKSGIVING WHICH I WILL USE TO STUDY FOR FINALS AND WORK MY BUT OFF TO PASS WITH FLYING COLORS.....SO THAT IS IT FOR NOW STAYED TUNED!!!!! MISS AND LOVE YOU ALL!

I FOUND THIS GREAT PUMPKIN CAKE IDEA ON KRAFT FOODS. I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT IDEA. MY STEP~SISTER HAD A HALLOWEEN PARTY FOR THE KIDS AND SHE HAD A FOOD CONTEST, I DIDN'T WIN BUT ITS A CUTE CAKE. AND IT WAS VERY MOIST SO I AM TOLD....EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT WIN....ITS A DAMN GREAT CAKE!

HALLOWEEN 2008

YESTERDAY WAS HALLOWEEN AND IT WAS HECTIC. TOM AND I BOTH WORKED AND SO I WAS NOT ABLE TO PICK UP THE KIDS TILL 5:30, THEN COME HOME BAKE A CAKE AND GET THEM READY FOR A PARTY. SERENA AND NOAH ARE BOTH GETTING SO BIG. I HAD TO FORCE THEM TO TAKE THIS PICTURE TOGETHER, AND THEN FORCE THEM TO DO A LITTLE POSE OR SOMETHING. IN THE END IT WAS A GREAT PICTURE!

OK, SO ANYBODY WHO KNOWS ME OR HAS EVER KNOWN ME KNOWS I HAVE NOT ONE OUNCE OF ATHLETICISM IN MY WHOLE BODY! BUT IF YOU HAVE EVER SEEN MY DAUGHTER....SHE IS AWESOME. SHE HAS BEEN PLAYING SOFTBALL SINCE SHE WAS 5 AND SHE PLAYED T-BALL FOR TWO YEARS AND NOW SHE PLAYS COACH PITCH. HER SECOND YEAR OF T-BALL SHE MADE ALL STARS, AND HER CURRENT COACH SAYS "SERENA HAS TALENT" "THE SPORT COMES SO EASY TO HER." THAT'S MY GIRL. EVERY GAME I AM IN AWWW OF HER, IT COMES TO HER SO EFFORTLESSLY. THIS WINTER BALL SEASON HER TEAM HAS LOST 2 GAMES AND THEY WON FIRST PLACE FOR THE SEASON!!! GO DIVAS!!! HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE PICS!

30 Years Old! OH! MY!

Well the day finally came. I turned 30! It was very surreal and a little overwhelming, to think oh my gosh! where in the world did my twenties go. I struggled a bit with turning 30, currently I am not working and I still have not completed school, wow! I thought this is not where I wanted to be at this age. I wanted to be done with school and working my "dream" job. But that is not the case. But then I turn the page and there is a picture of my family, Tom, Serena and Noah, to bring me back to my reality, look at the great family I have created with a good man. So 30 is not so bad afterall. I had a great time in San Antonio with friends and family, Tom gave me a really great day to remember. I will conquer all in this decade, I believe that start of this new decade will define me for ever. So look out 30 here I come!

Hello! Again!

I know its been a while since my last post, but we have been super busy. At the end of July and through August Tom and I were busy preparing the kids for school. Serena started 2nd grade, and Noah started 1st grade. My babies are growing up so fast. Aside from that, I hold a seat on the PTA board at thier school, and we have been busy preparing for our first meeting and other first of the year stuff, I am really having a good time with this PTA. School not only started for the kids but also for me, I am taking college algebra (yikes!) and lifetime fitness and wellnes. Also, I have been subbing some at Incarnate Word Academy High School, and I love it, I have been learning so much and the staff has been so great to me. I just wish it was more permanent. The kids are so busy, both have started baseball and softball, after finishing a month of tennis, and I signed them up for religious education classes and Noah is having his first cub scout meeting this Friday coming. I will also be teaching a second grade religious education class. For those of you wondering I was accepted to Texas A& M University Corpus and will begin my junior year there in Spring 2009, YEAH! Can you see how far I am stretching myself...but I love it and I would not have it any other way. Pictures to come.....stay tuned.

A Day "OUT" of the Sun!!!!

I am sure you all know where this is.....yep! your right CHUCK E. CHEESE!!!! We decided to take the kids out on Tuesday for a little fun and pizza. Since we had spent so much time "in" the sun while camping, a little indoor activity sounded great!!! YUMMY!!! DINNER IS SERVED!!

GARNER ANNUAL FAMILY CAMPING

EVERY YEAR FOR AT LEAST THE LAST FIVE YEARS THE CHAVEZ FAMILY MEETS FOR A LITTLE "R&R!"IN GARNER STATE PARK. THE FIRST YEAR I WAS SKEPTICAL BECAUSE IT RAINED AND NOAH CRIED THE ENTIRE FIRST NIGHT "DADA I WANT TO GO HOME TO MY BED." BUT FIVE YEARS LATER ITS REALLY A TRIP I LOOK FORWARD TO. WE EAT, SLEEP, SWIM AND EAT SOME MORE. THIS IS ONE FAMILY TRADITION I AM GLAD I MARRIED INTO!!! ON OUR WAY: THIS IS A STOP WE MAKE EVERY YEAR BEFOR GETTING TO GARNER. WE STOP IN HONDO, TEXAS TO STRETCH OUR LEGS AND BUY SOME SNACKS AND FILL UP ON GAS. I TOOK THIS PIC OF MY FATHER-IN-LAWS TRAILER BECAUSE ITS PRICELESS. ITS GOT EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO MAKE THE TRIP A SUCCESS: BIKES, BEDS, FOOD, TENTS.....YOU NAME WE TAKE IT!!!!

THIS TENT HAS SUCH A BACK STORY. TOM PURCHASED THIS TENT AT THE PAWN SHOP WHERE HE WORKS AND HE LOVES IT, HE THOUGHT IT WAS A REALLY GREAT BUY. AND FOR THE MOST PART IT IS, I FIT A QUEEN SIZE AIR MATTRESS, SUITCASES, AND A TWIN BED IN THERE AND I STILL HAVE ROOM. ITS THE SETTING UP THAT I JUST CAN NOT ADJUST TO. WE NORMALLY START SETTING IT UP BEFORE EVERYONE AND FINISH AT LEAST 20 MINUTES AFTER EVERYONE ELSE. WE HAVE TO ENLIST THE HELP OF ALL THE FAMILY AND TOM GETS MAD WITH EVERYONE WHO IS HELPING BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HELPING CORRECTLY. IT HAS A MILLION POLES AND FIGURING THEM OUT IS A NIGHTMARE. BUT MY HONEY LOVES IT, SO HE REFUSES TO TRASH IT. I ALMOST TALKED HIM INTO THIS TIME AROUND. MAYBE NEXT YEAR!!!

Summer School!!!

As you all know I have been attending summer school this year, and it has not always been a joy. I was taking my second natural science earth history, with mr. steinburg. it was sooo boring, we talked about the geologic time scale, precambrian, cambrian, mesozoic, are you feeling my pain yet. it was a four hour class from 5:30 to 9:30 mon-thur, it was pure torture. well as boring as it was i succeeded and made a B in the class yeah for me! now it is on to another boring class pre algebra....this class is to prepare me for college algebra....then like i said before save the date cause i will be recieving my associates in december....i can't wait the light at the end of the tunnel is brighter then ever now.

School...blah! blah! blah!

Spring session is finally over I did it, YEAH FOR ME! I had a really tuff time this semester it was a major adjustment for me, and I made through! Although I must say there were lots of tears shed, and I have to admit that I did doubt myself a lot this semester. But not to worry. Its done and over with....till summer session I!!!
This picture above was my brain during finals. I studied so hard for my finals. I was staying up till two or three and going to work at seven in the morning. And after finals my brain felt like mush. I had two actual finals where I had to sit down and do a multiple choice type test. I had to write two papers, and two oral presentations. Do you feel my pain yet?
After my last final I treated myself to a pedicure, I felt like I deserved it and since I had neglected my little feet all semester it was time to "treat my feet"! So I did and it was great!
This is my thought of relaxation and that is just what I am going to do for the next fourteen days that I have off from school. And yes if you are wondering "I PASSED" all my classes! And a little FYI: I will be GRADUATING from Del Mar with my associates in December, so save the date!

THIS WAS GOOD FRIDAY! I TOOK THE DAY OFF FROM WORK AND SCHOOL AND SPENT THE DAY WITH MY KIDDOS! WE WOKE UP EARLY AND WENT TO MASS AT OUR CHURCH, HAD LUNCH, AND THEN I SURPRISED THEM WITH PUT-PUT GOLFING JUST ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JFK CAUSEWAY. WE HAD SOOOO MUCH FUN!
